We have a production site and an official move-in date for Tineo Mead Company!
On May 1, we’ll be moving into Tineo’s 1,000-square-foot production space in Windsor, California. The idea for Tineo Mead Company was born about a year ago, and seeing the place where it’s actually going to be made was genuinely moving. Having a physical home for Tineo is a huge milestone on its own, but there are a few things about this site that make it especially exciting.
First, we’ll be surrounded by like-minded producers and makers. Our neighbors include a brewing company, winemakers, food producers, farmers, and craftspeople. I’m excited to become part of that community and to build relationships with people who are creating thoughtful, distinctive products of their own. I’ve never started a company before, so being surrounded by people who have done it and are doing it very well, feels both humbling and inspiring.
Second, the space is a great fit for how we want to begin. It has a warehouse-style layout, a large roll-up door, and the right amount of room for Phase 1 of Tineo. The plan is to start small, focusing on pop-ups, farmers markets, festivals, and specialty shops. That approach gives us a chance to get real-world feedback on the recipes before scaling production. This site supports that plan well, while also giving us room to grow into larger vessels and Phase 2 when the time is right.
Third, it’s an ideal place to launch a business like this. Tineo will begin in beautiful Sonoma County, a region best known for world-class wine, a strong craft beverage culture, and of course, excellent honey. What we’re building feels like a strong fit for this area and for this phase of Tineo.
Now that we’ve secured a space, we can move fully into licensing and begin preparing for production. After a long stretch of planning, building, and refining, Tineo finally feels close. In just a few months, we expect to be pouring our first glasses, and that’s a pretty incredible thing to be able to say.
