What we make
Mead, made a little differently.
Mead is alcohol made by fermenting honey with water and yeast.
It’s one of the oldest fermented drinks in the world, but there isn’t just one kind of mead. It can be still or sparkling, dry or sweet, strong and wine-like, or light and refreshing.
At Tineo, we make the last one, a light, sparkling style often called session mead.
What is session mead?
Traditional mead is often closer to wine in strength, sometimes reaching 10%, 12%, or even higher.
Session mead takes the same basic idea and makes it lighter.
Tineo is 5% ABV, gently carbonated, crisp, and refreshing. The honey gives it character and a touch of sweetness without making it heavy or syrupy.
The kind of drink you grab from the fridge on a warm afternoon.
Why honey?
Honey isn’t just sugar.
Its flavor changes depending on the flowers, landscape, season, and region it comes from.
That means honey gives us an incredible range of aromas and flavors to work with.
Our everyday mead is designed to be simple, crisp, and approachable. But honey also gives us plenty of room to experiment with different varieties, fermentation styles, and special releases.
That’s where things get interesting.
The 16 oz session mead is the heart of Tineo, but it’s only one expression of what mead can be.
Over time, we’ll explore smaller releases using different varietal honeys, unique yeast strains, seasonal ingredients, barrel aging, and stronger traditional-style meads.
Some may still belong in a can. Others may belong in a bottle.
We started with honey, water, and yeast. From there, we’ll see where fermentation and curiosity take us.
